Death Cafe is a safe space to get comfortable acknowledging mortality while maybe eating something yummy and drinking something refreshing. . It is a group-directed discussion on death with no agenda, objectives, or themes.
Our objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’. This is neither a grief support group nor a counselling session. There any particular expected outcome; just people getting together to explore thoughts on death and dying in a respectful way. It’s a place to be with people who are okay acknowledging mortality.
“Just like talking about sex won’t get you pregnant, talking about death won’t get you dead!” – Jon Underwood, Death Cafe founder
